Character: Sade, a Ghanaian-Nigerian raised in Texas, works as a marketing manager for a prominent Nigerian Bank based in Accra. She is a graduate of Harvard Business School.
Actress: MaameYaa Boafo hails from Ghana, West Africa and is an MFA alumni from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. She is also the executive director of Shaggae's Song Performing Arts Collective INC. Past credits include Ophelia from America Globe Theatre's educational tour of Hamlet, 2010-2011 company member of George Street Playhouse, Biftu in Antu Yacob's debut play Mourning Sun. MaameYaa will next be seen in the short film Asa and will be filming Kwaku Ananse with Focus Features later in 2012.
Character: Zainab, a Sierra Leonean, grew up in Atlanta. Her entrepreneurial spirit brought her to Ghana and she has a constant eye for business opportunities.
Actress: Edwina Lebbie is currently a FLAS Fellow, pursuing a Masters degree in International Affairs with a focus on Africa Studies at Ohio University. Edwina studied History, French and African Studies at Georgetown. She has held leadership positions in several organizations most notably, the African Society of Georgetown, where she served as President from 2008-2009. Edwina also volunteers with African Immigrants and Refugee Foundation and Fashion Empowering Women. A native of Sierra Leone, she is now based in Athens, Ohio
Character: Makena, a Kenyan, grew up in London. She is a lawyer, graduating from Oxford Law. She works as a lawyer for an Accra-based British bank.
Actress: Multi-talented artist, Miriam Chemmoss hails from East Africa and spent her formative years between Tanzania and Kenya where she was steeped in a potent brew of her family’s diverse African, Middle-Eastern and European cultural roots. In 1998..., Miriam was awarded a full scholarship by Waldorf College to study Theater/Music and Media (Print, Electronic and Digital Media); this experience prepared her well for the performance arts scene in DC.
With multiple credits to her name, Miriam has had acting lead and supporting roles in several Off-Broadway Shows like, "Eating Out" (2004), "AESOP" (2005), "Job & The Snake" (2006) and several independent films like "Suspense" (2010), "Amnesty" (2012), "Mirrors" (2007), "Refuge" (2003) and television pilots such as "Ya Maafrika" (2007), "Bedford Diaries" (2006), to name a few. In her full acting repertoire includes Regional Theater, Off-Broadway, Film, Television, Print, Radio, Voice-overs and Webcasts.
Character: Nana Yaa, a Ghanaian, was raised in New York state, just outside the city. She returned to Ghana after earning her graduate degree in journalism from Columbia University.
Actress: Nana Mensah is a Ghanaian-American New York-based actress. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and in her burgeoning career has played onstage with the likes of Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Kevin Kline, LaChanze, Mandy Patinkin, Anthony Mackie and Jonathan Groff.
Character: Ngozi, a born-again Nigerian and the youngest of the group, was raised in Maryland. After earning her graduate degree in international affairs, she was offered a job at a development agency in Accra.
Actress: Esosa Edosomwan is an award winning Actress, Writer, “Directress,” named a "Young African Visionary," by Obaasema Magazine and included in Applause Africa's list of "30 Most Intr...iguing Africans in New York." Esosa's work as an actress has appeared on VOX Africa, BET, BET-J, and MTV and screened in numerous festivals and art circles worldwide including: Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Milano Festival, the MOMA, and the Whitney Biennial. As a filmmaker she has written and directed several short films to date including "50 Bucks in Argentina," which won Best Short at the Nigerian Entertainment Film Festival. Supermodel/Actor Sam Sarpong and Vanessa Curry from the Pussy Cat Dolls were
mobbed by fans while shooting the 2013 Spring Fall campaign for the celebrity
high end jewelry line, KD Luxe Jewelry.
This new hot jewelry line can be seen
worn on celebrities like Mark Walberg, Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Halle
Berry, and Eva Longeria. The owner of KD Luxe Jewlery, Kathleen Largen has also
designed for top designers including Guess, Brighton Kenneth Cole, and DKNY.
When asked why she choose the two as the face of her line she did not hesitate
to state, “My line is all about being positive and good energy while still
holding a hip and cool feeling and that is exactly what Sam and Vanessa
represent. Sarpong who has an incredible year of 2012 just continues to
progress, currently he is the host of Ryan Seacrest’s new show AXS Live. Next
year he will co-star with Tiny Lister in the feature film “No Weapons Formed
Against Us” in the mean while fall time will bring the super anticipated film
“Trigger” featuring 90210 star Matt Cohen. Next month he will start shooting a
horror film called, “angels landing,”
In the film he plays Joshua, who is a
positive rap star. In contrast to that, Next month Sam will also start filming
the comedy series “Average Dad”co starring actor/writer Brent Goldberg from van
wilder fame and my name is earl star actress Jamie Presley. He will play a Young
hot dad who all his son’s teachers have a crush on.
Vanessa too, has been doing
some great projects. Just last weekend Vanessa Curry was seen on the hit show
CSI New York. Next year she will be seen in the up and coming film, “Bench Seat”
and “Dirty Laundry.”
These two stars are definitely on track to be one of
Hollywood’s hottest entertainers in 2013. In addition SAM and Vanessa have been
seen wearing the line on some of the hottest a list red carpets Sam recently
wore the pure inspiration collection to the Bvlgari watches event last week
hosted by Drew Barrymore at the Rodeo Drive store. .
During the day Sam and
Vanessa were shot by thirty different paparazzi photographers while fans
followed them all day. Both were shot driving up and down Rodeo drive riding in
a brand new Maserati provided by Mirani Motors.
Along with all the press
attending the event, TMZ came out to show some love as well. Both Sam and
Vanessa were interviewed. A couple lucky fans slide in for an opportunity to
have a few pictures snapped of them with Sam and Vanessa. Also, be on the
lookout for Vanessa’s solo album with the hit single, “Heart Beat.” KD Luxe

This convoy was a strong combination of Rolls Royce Phantom, Rolls Royce Ghost, Bentleys, S-Class', BMWs, Cadillac Escalades, and Range Rovers. ... The convoy culminated at the reception venue after a drive through Accra's scenic routes.
We were privileged to be part of this great event especially since the whole community is still referring to it as the wedding of the decade.
