Early and very rare double panel folding copper plate engraving of the Gold Coast, West Africa by Johannes Kip. The picture was published by Awnsham & John Churchill in their 'A Collection of Voyages and Travels' in 1732. The upper panel is titled 'The Prospect of Comendo' the lower, 'The Prospect of the Town and Castle del Mina being at NNE. about 2 miles'.
The picture is in good condition.Size of engraved area 340mm x 250mm.

Early and very rare three panel folding copper plate engraving of the Gold Coast, West Africa by Johannes Kip. The picture was published by Awnsham & John Churchill in their 'A Collection of Voyages and Travels' in 1732. The panels from top to bottom are: 'The Prospect of the First Point of Cape Tres Puntas, the Point C being at SE1/4 S abt 1 1/2 league', 'The Prospect of the Fort Badensteyn at Boetroe, being at NW 1 1/4 L' and 'The Prospect of the Fort St Sebastiaen at Sama, at NNW abt 1 League'.
 
The picture is in good condition. Size of engraved area 350mm x 250mm.

The panels from top to bottom are: 'The Dutch Fort Craevecaeur at Accra', 'The Danish Fort Christiaenburgh, at Accra', 'Cape Ruygehoeck or Duyvelsberg...' and The Prospect of the Village and Coast of Lay, the Mount Redonda ...'.
 
The picture is in good condition. Size of engraved area 350mm x 250mm.

Fort Badenstein & Fort St Sebastian, Gold Coast C1745
Early copper plate engraving of Fort Badenstein at Boutri, from Bardot and Fort San Sebastian at Shama from Bardot. The forts are in West Africa, Gold Coast, Ghana. I believe this engraving comes from John Green's 1745 edition of 'A New Collection of Voyages and Travels' but cannot be certain of this. Engraved by Thomas Kitchin.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, and apart from a light crease top left is in good condition.Size of engraved area 210mm x 140mm.

Fort of Amsterdam at Krmentin & Roal Fort at Mansro Gold Coast, West Africa C1745
Early copper plate engraving showing 'Dutch Fort of Amsterdam at Kormentin from Bardot' & 'Fort Royal at Mansro from Bardot'. The forts are in Gold Coast, Ghana, West Africa. I believe this engraving comes from John Green's 1745 edition of 'A New Collection of Voyages and Travels' but cannot be certain of this. Engraved by N Parr.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, is in good condition. Size of engraved area 210mm x 140mm.
