According to some media outlets, Keri Hilson & Bow Wow are playing at Stand Up Ghana -live at the DOME, Accra, Ghana on Saturday 26th -May-2012.…

As I’ve stated above a few Ghanaian media outlets are talking about uber hot Keri Hilson and Bow Wow -playing at the Domes Accra International Conference Centre this coming Saturday… As I don’t know much about said event the following comes via Myjoyonline.com and offers more info….enjoy x

*************
Organizers of the maiden Stand UP GH concert scheduled for May 26 at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre say all is about set for event that promises an unforgettable night.

To be headlined by sexy American songstress Keri Hilson and her compatriot Bow Wow, this will be the two artistes’ first ever performance in Ghana.

The concert is put together by Imajin Advertising, who also organizes the Legends and Legacy Ball, an annual event aimed at celebrating and honouring music legends. The maiden edition of that event celebrated and awarded the legendary Charles Kojo Fosu popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

The success of that concert has definitely inspired the young company to greater heights and give more to its Ghanaian audience.

The management of Imajin Advertising addressed the press in Accra and assured that, they are fully equipped and ready to give music lovers a concert that will linger on for generations to come.

The press conference was addressed by Mr. Arnold Kojo Asante, CEO of Imajin; Kwame Karikari, General Manager; Mrs. Boakyewaah Appiah, Managing Director; Kojo Rana, Events Manager and Upper Junior, Productions Manager.

They said they have learnt from similar concerts staged in Ghana over the years and promised to change the dynamics of concert organization in the country to give fans a treat worthy of their money. That also informed the choice of Keri Hilson and Bow Wow.

Keri Hilson, singer, songwriter and an actress, holds a perfect blend of classiness which is very appealing to both male and female audience. She has dazzled the world, since the release of her maiden album, In a Perfect World in 2009, with hit after hit.

Some of her well-known tunes that will definitely reverberate on the night include Knock You Down, Turning Me On, Energy and the smash hit Pretty Girl Rock.

Bow Wow, born Shad Gregory Moss, is no new customer to good music. He hit the limelight at an early age of 13 with the career name, Lil Bow Wow. Some of his early hits include Bounce with Me, Bow Wow (That’s My Name), Thank You and Take Ya Home.

Now a very refined artiste Bow Wow has upped his game over the years. He has hit music charts with tunes such as Let Me Hold You, Like You, Shortie Like Mine and Outta My System.

The Stand UP GH will not only be about Keri Hilson and Bow Wow, other seasoned Ghanaian acts, including Buk Bak, Guru, Rana, Kwaw Kese, Kaaki, Edem and Chemphe, will also be performing on the night.

"I’m interested in the various nuances of the continent. My family comes from the Ashanti tribe, which is very well known and has an extremely distinctive character, but they always pushed me to understand how diverse and multifaceted Africa’s cultures are. And since my father is a diplomat, we lived in Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia. Then when I was 13 we moved to London. I feel absolutely connected to the spirit of globalism." David Adjaye

"Giving something back to Ghana is not an important thing for me. It is the most important thing for me.. I don’t want the kids who grow up there to have to face all the difficulties I faced to follow their dreams. They can become footballers, doctors, teachers, pilots, who knows, presidents. They can become important people. They can change the world." Sulley Ali Mundari

"I’m very proud to be half African. If I wasn’t I never would have chosen to play for Ghana instead of Germany. I’ve been to Africa – not often, but when I was there I really enjoyed it… The problem in Africa is that the potential is there – the whole world saw the excellent organization of the South African World Cup, where everything ran smoothly. All that’s missing is European infrastructure and organization." Kevin-Prince Boateng

Jackie Appiah wears a JiL dress to the 65th Cannes Film Festival…

I’ve been doing my utmost to find the original photographs of popular Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah (Aygemang), as the ones (also above) doing their rounds on the internet look a bit grainy.. I’ve tired Zimbio -to no avail -so I’m wondering if it was taken by her own personal photographer??

I then tried to locate her own website -also to no avail, -her
http://www.jackieappiah.net/ is inactive; then I visited her official face book(s) pages -but quality photographs from said event were not yet uploaded, -so sorry folks but after a couple of days of looking for better copies of actress Jackie Appiah wearing a Kente maxi dress by JiL to this year’s Cannes Film Festival -I’m going to have to give you the same ole, same ole grainy pictures that been paraded round Blogland..

***I would have loved the dress to have been longer on her, anyway she looks her Jackie Appiah best, and her smile says it all, -she had a ball…

Jackie Appiah’s a big fan of the JiL fashion label and is often photographed wearing their lovely dresses. The picture below is of the actress wearing another one of their designs. For more info about JiL Boutique visit: http://jilboutique.com/
