AQL Collection, Anita Quansah’s A/W 2011 collection..

I’m thankful that I passed by Ohemma Shadders’ blog today [http://www.shadders.net/]. On-trend and of-the-minute, the Shadders website is a must for all African fashion lovers. I was searching for info about yesterday’s African Fashion Week and noted she’d written about Ghana Rising fave, Anita Horsfall [nee Quansah ??]. One of our favourite jewellery designers, Anita Quansah’s latest AQL collection is to-live-for. Inspired by ‘Avatar’ and work by artist & designer, Valentim Quaresma- the collection has her signature, bold, fierce and sexy feel about it. I’m inspired, I hope to shoot these pieces soon. Anita Quansah at Fashion Mist 2011...

(Credit: Photos courtesy of Simon Klyne)

Honestly, I never know where to start with Anita Quansah‘s hot jewellery! Her bold, handmade valiant pieces -coveted by the fash-pack, -have appeared in all the hot glossies -and I’m a huge fan. I came face-2-face with Ms Quansah at Fashion Mist 2011 -and wasn’t disappointed. Beautiful, graceful and warm, it was a pleasure to meet this great talent -and as per our conversation, -can’t wait to shoot some of the above for various projects I’m working on at present (I’ll tell you all about it closer to the time). Fashion: Anita Quansah's jewellery collection is 'to-live-for'......

There is something about quality isn't there [especially quality jewellery]? You can spot it a mile off -and the older I get the less I'm prepared to compromise it....and that's why I'm soo excited by jewellery/fashion/textile/designer -Anita Quansah's beautifully embellished neckpieces, -Theda and Adaeze [above] featured in the latest German Vogue. Lovingly made by hand with vintage and recycled fabrics; -bound with chains and pearls -these neckpieces are works of art. Once a fashion insider secret [British Vogue refers to Anita Quansah's neckpieces as “Best Buys”] -these coveted neckpieces have been featured in high-end glossies including: British and German vogue, Muse, German Tush and Vision Magazine. I can't get over them -I seriously covet every single piece in Anita's latest collection -they are fabulously ‘on-trend’.
