Paulina Opoku-Gyimah says: I’ve
just finished reading travel giant Kuoni’s January –March 2013 issue’s must
visit resorts in the world and as always the few feted hotels/resorts in
Africa -don’t include any in Ghana but the usual suspects, -those delectable
venues in Cape Town & Johannesburg –South Africa, Nairobi –Kenya and even Arusha –Tanzania!!!
I then visited Conde Nast to see if any of Ghana’s lovely hotels had made this years ‘Best New Hotels of 2013’ –but it came back void!!!
And
of course high end travel agencies like Abercrombie & Kent and Virtuoso –two
of the leading tailor-made, luxury holiday specialists are only really
interested in safaris and long established resorts in East & South Africa etc.
What
we really need is an elegant –well travelled luxury hotel connoisseur at Ghana
Tourist Board or Authority or whatever -to up their game, and start to sell the
yumminess of Ghana.
They need to sort out Kotoka, –it needs a welcoming VIP
lounge and concierge service for first time visitors to Ghana. It also needs a
list of reputable high-end tour guides who can show the only people traveling
now –the sybarites and the thrill seekers –the hot or adventurous spots in Ghana
–or should I say Accra!!!
Ghana
also need a chic and elegant, well put together publication –that’s full to
bursting with all the latest must-visit hotspots in and around Accra, Ghana with a directory
consisting of paid for advertising by some of the big players in Ghana’s
buzzing business and tourist industry etc…..
But
in the meantime, I thought I’d do my bit and share the most beautiful resort in
Ghana, Lou Moon Lodge, -Ghana’s
biggest insider secret -situated in the nation’s easy breezy western region in
Agyan via Axim –with you…..
Tranquil
and beautiful, with lush green vegetation to one side and pristine sandy beaches
on the other, -Lou Moon Lodge is “Located on a 24 acres land covered by jungle
and forest, lies amid a beautiful bay surrounded by sandy beaches.
On the shore of this natural swimming pool,
protected from the ocean waves by an enchanting peninsula, the Lodge provides
with twelve rooms ranging from the peaceful "traveller" rooms to the
exquisite "executive" bungalows located on a private island. Nearby
the beaches our guests will enjoy the open bar and the restaurant serving world
cooking .
