Our Elikem wins challenge of a lifetime and becomes Head of House……

Our Elikem has won the challenge against Botswana’s philosophical radio presenter Oneal and is now Alpha male du jour-and of course this has won him some serious enemies.

Anywaysss it won’t come as a surprise to you --but our Elikem is up for eviction against the tittle-tattle couple of Big Brother Africa house –Oneal and Tanzanian singer Feza this week. But as he’s head of house he can opt to save himself and put someone else up for possible eviction… And I’m thinking that’s what he’s going to do… To read all about it visit: http://bigbrotherafrica.dstv.com/

Paulina says: its fab to see another Ghanaian sister doing her thing in the cutthroat world of modelling, –and even though I know nothing about model Victoria Afia Opoku –I wish her every success.

Big Brother Africa’s Latest News: Nando is disqualified and Elikem gets a strike.......

Title: Breaking News: Nando Disqualified-Elikem gets a Strike

Tanzania's Nando has been Disqualified from the Big Brother House.

After tonight's Evictions that saw Annabel and Sulu being given the boot, Big Brother then gathered all of the Housemates in the living room.

Today Big Brother reproached Nando for the fight that he had with Elikem on Friday. The heated face-off with Elikem saw the two fellas exchanging fiery words between them. Nando is the one that instigated the fight. Instigation and provocation is a violation of the Big Brother rules.

"Any Housemate who becomes physically violent will be removed from the House immediately. Violence can refer to self-inflicted violence, or violence towards another. Violence includes provocation, goading, bullying and victimisation," said Biggie.

This season Big Brother has imposed a Three Strike Rule, which will be applicable to Housemates who commit serious infringements. For this fight Nando received his second Strike and Elikem was served with his first Strike. Afterwards the Tanzanian was called into the Diary Room. He was given his third Strike for making threats against Elikem's life, saying: "I feel like stabbing him. A nigga like that deserves to die".

And he was also caught sleeping with scissors under his bed and this is not the first time that he has been caught with a weapon in the House. The troubled young fellow has had a dramatic nine weeks in The Chase. Last month he was served with a a Strike and a stern warning from Big Brother after he was found carrying a knife to the Channel O Party. The possession of weapons or intention to be violent in the House is another violation of the Big Brother rules.

After the Diary session Nando was told to immediately exit the House. Big Brother then gave a warning to the Housemates to conduct themselves as adults.

Paulina says: Omgoodness I wasn’t expecting this but I’m glad Big Brother Africa made a decision to do ‘something’ with regards to young Nando’s behaviour as he been acting somewhat erratic…

I’m hoping they also offer Nando some sort of counselling/support –because it might just be a game to some ---but were talking about a young man’s life… This is sooooo sad, wishing young Nando all the best for the future.

Art/Film: David LaChapelle & Reiner Opoku - Reinventing Yourself

“Reiner Opoku is an international curator and contemporary art dealer who began working with artists in the early ’80s. He has seen firsthand how artists make the world a more vibrant and innovative place, and in that spirit, introduces The Avant/Garde Diaries to artist David LaChapelle. David’s work is widely recognizable with its loud colors, exposed skin, glittering bling, and phantasmagoric blend of fact and fiction. His glossy, ostentatious portraits of pop culture icons such as Madonna, Amanda Lepore, Lady Gaga, and Michael Jackson helped define his signature style.”

Big Brother News: Hip Hip Hooray …Ghana’s Elikem survives what is probably the hardest Eviction –yet…

Paulina Opoku-Gyimah says: Omgoodness …I was hoping but wasn’t expecting this outcome!!! I and most of Africa and beyond are soooooo happy that Ghana’s last representative –actor/tailor Elikem has been saved from tonight’s crazy evictions, mainly because Big Brother Africa always seems sooooo biased towards Ghanaians. Anyway I want our Elikem to win but …..with its poli-tricks I just don’t know ---but what I am certain of is that nobody wants Tanzania’s Feza or Botswana’s Oneal. The aforementioned are lovers in the Big Brother Africa house –and have over the past month started to show their true feelings towards the rest of the housemates –and it’s not good.

I find Feza new stance baffling especially her brewing hatred for our Elikem –someone she was once very close to. Also it seems Oneal who I thought was just very serious and a principled young man has changed drastically. He is now somewhat bitter, has real hatred for our Elikem and apparently hates ‘West Africans’ –which isn’t going down well with Africans especially West Africans in watching land.

Another thing that is troubling this the fact that Feza seems to have a very negative hold over her fellow countrymen Nando –who is hell-bent on upsetting our Elikem …I just don’t know what’s going on with him.

All-in-all I’m pleased that our Elikem is safe for another week, –plus he has a head-to-head coming up against Botswana’s Oneal tomorrow –which seems to have watchers in watching land gripped…. But apart from that, I’m uber sad that Big Brother Africa lost the very funny and much loved Zambian Housemate Sulu,… I really wished that only Annabel went today but it’s how the cookie crumbled…. I see big things for Sulu and wish him every success.

A big thank you to the following countries for voting for Elikem….

Ghana: Elikem
Ethiopia: Elikem
Nigeria: Elikem
Sierra Leone: Elikem
Zimbabwe: Elikem
Rest of Africa: Elikem

Bev’s Cookie Desserts was created from a love of baking and passion to come up with exciting new and creative cookies. I was at home one day and I said to my sister wouldn’t it be cool if you could have a dessert as a snack maybe a cookie that you could eat anywhere. Bev’s Cookie Desserts was born and the rest is history.

What does your set-up mean to you?
It is very import to us as a business to offer consistency in all our cookies; in quality, presentation and taste. Because of this our set up is very important, it can be challenging but I love what I do.

What makes the food you serve so special?
The thing that makes Bev’s Cookie Desserts so unique is the truly original recipes created in my kitchen. They combine some of the world best love desserts into delicious cookies. Never before have you been able to enjoy cookies or desserts in this way. The concept is unique not only in London and the UK but around the world.

After yours, what other street stalls out there do you think are really good?
I am in love with the concept of Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen it is not just a ‘pop-up’ restaurant – it’s a temporary dining event and catering service which merges its Ghanaian roots with a contemporary dining experience. Home spun, home cooked food @GhanaKitchen. All the things I love!

Do you have a food blog? Who is your favourite food blogger? What positive effect are food bloggers having on the country’s food scene?
I love the London eater blog, I am fascinated with new up and coming pop ups, restaurants and supper clubs.

What’s your favourite new ‘trend’ on the British street food scene at the moment?
I love the Korean Street food trend and @TheBrekkyClub breakfasts. Yum!
