I’m sooo excited…..according to those in the knowwwww….the ever fabulous British-Ghanaian actor/writer/director/producer, Amma Asante is set to direct a period drama about the trials and tribulations of a mixed-race girl titled Belle, from a script which she co-wrote.
Set in late 18th century England, Belle chronicles the life and times and ultimately.... a taboo relationship between Belle and a (white) vicar's son who happens to be an abolitionist, -all very gripping -me thinks..
With the ever gorgeous British actress, Naomie Harris rumoured to be playing Belle and a budget of £6.5 million ($10.1 million) -Amma Asante, is scheduled to begin production in late summer.
