Music: Atumpan signs to Ministry of Sounds…..

Paulina Opoku-Gyimah says: I was listening to Dj Abrantee on Choice FM last Friday night when he interviewed  Atumpan of ‘The Thing’ fame…

–It was a very good short straight to the point interview, -where we found out that Atumpan, the name for talking drums in the Akan language,  was a former Biology and Chemistry teacher –and ‘The Thing’ he talks about …was to do with teaching a certain pupil who was not paying attention in his class…then proceeding to mess about etc..

–So if like the millions loving and listening to ‘The Thing’ you thought it was about @&*£$ ---it’s time to take your head out of the gutter (laughter)!!!!… Please note, Atumpan made it very clear that he prefers for all to interpret ‘The Thing’ –any way they want (laughter)!!!

Anyway the big news of the night was when Dj Abrantee got Atumpan to confirm that he has, like Wretch 32, signed with the Ministry of Sound’s record label…

I didn’t know if I’d heard the information right --until the following morning, when the ever gorgeous Manny Norte confirmed the signing on his Saturday morning show… Ghana Rising sends big congrats to Atumpan and wishes him huge global success.
