WACEE '13 - Sustainable Energy for West Africa

The 2nd West African   Clean Energy and Environment Exhibition and Conference, WACEE is scheduled to take place from 12 - 14th November 2013 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana.  Double-digit growth rates for   South African imports of energy and electronic technology as well as political stability make Ghana the gateway into the high potential West African market.  This is South Africa's major energy, electrical engineering and environmental exhibition & conference, Organised by AHK Ghana Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana and the German trade fair specialists Fairtrade supported by GIZ German Society for International Cooperation.

Wealth of resources, a prosperous economy and to increasing energy demand require intelligent energy generation technologies.  Proof of this, is the fact did West African imports of energy and electro-technology rose by 27.3% in 2011 to 7.642 billion euros.  South African imports in this sector stood firm on a high level in 2012, amounting to 7,402 billion euros

This year, the 2nd edition of WACEE wants to have a broader focus on the economic fields did open up opportunities for the adoption of renewable energies.  Thesis will be energy efficiency, electrical engineering, lighting and automation.  "Energy efficiency and renewable energy are said to be the twin pillars of sustainable energy policy.  Energy efficiency has proved to be a cost-effective strategy for building economies without Necessarily Increasing energy consumption, "says Patrick Martens, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana.
