The Ghana International Women’s Club (GIWC) is a non-profit, charitable organisation committed to improving the lives of the less privileged in Ghana. The club supports numerous worthwhile projects that benefit women and children, through voluntary social work and internal financial support. Funds to support these projects are raised through fundraising activities and corporate donations and sponsorships.
GIWC aims are: to offer information as well as opportunities to women of all colours and creeds; to help them exchange ideas with their international counterparts; and to encourage its members to take concrete steps to improve the lives of the less fortunate in Ghana, especially women and children.
GIWC was formed in 1980. Its membership is representative of 39 different nationalities from all over the world residing in Ghana. The Club draws on the diversity represented by its 80 strong membership. It has been highly successful in improving the lives of the less fortunate in its host country.
